Granola in a Thermomix



September 28, 2023

I am super fussy when it comes to Granola. I like it to be full of flavour but no "hard bits" in it. I was born with fragile teeth and eating store bought food like this will most certainly break them if I am not careful. So I decided to create this recipe so I could eat it - worry free.

It has 3 WW Points per serve - 20 grams. Originally it was only 2 points but I found I needed a little more sweetness in it so I added honey. You can omit the honey if you want and it will take it back to 2 points.

Granola our way

We love our Granola, but we also like bits of this recipe and bits of that recipe and a few things of our own thrown in. This is what we have come up with as our perfect mix.

  • Thermomix
  • Oven
  • 100 gms Dried Fruit (Apples, Apricots, cranberries)
  • 100 gms Sultanas
  • 150 gms Assorted Nuts (almond, hazelnuts, cashews)
  • 150 gms Assorted Seeds (sunflower, pepitas, flax, chia)
  • 10 gms Sesame Seeds
  • 190 gms Oats
  • 60 gms Coconut oil
  • 40 gms Honey
  • 40 gms Maple/Agave Syrup
  • 75 gms Coconut Flakes
  • 1 tbsp Cinnamon
  • 1 pinch sea salt
  • 100 gms Dark Chocolate Chips (Optional)
  1. Preheat oven to 160 degrees

  2. Place fruit into TM bowl and Chop

    Turbo - 1 second - 3 times

Transfer to a bowl and set aside for after bake

  3. Place nuts into TM bowl and Chop

    30 seconds - Speed 4

Scrape down the sites of the bowl

  4. Add seeds, oats, coconut oil, coconut flakes, honey, maple/agave syrup, cinnamon, salt into TM bowl - Mix - leaving MC OFF - Mix with aird of TM Spatula

    3 minutes - 85 degrees - Speed 2

  5. Transfer mixture onto a baking sheet and distribute evenly as possible avoiding edges of the tray - I find these bake too quickly

  6. Bake for 15-20 minutes - First check at 5 minutes then every 2-3 after that. Yes it is time consuming, but you don't want burnt bits.

  7. When granola is at the cook you want (remembering it always looks lighter in the oven that when out) Add your dried cut up fruit and mix through

  8. Leave to cool and transfer to airtight container

  9. ** You can also add small dark chocolate chips once it has cooled for a sweetness in your granola
