March to mid-April has been quite a whirlwind, especially with the arrival of our new granddaughter Sofia on March 19th and the general hustle of work. As a website designer with sporting clubs on my roster, getting the football season underway for they demands a lot of attention – sorting out fixtures, coaches, committees, and the like. It’s practically a full-time job at the start of the season! But let’s shift gears from work and delve into some culinary adventures and WW updates.
Navigating cooking this month has been a bit of a mixed bag. While I managed to craft a meal plan for April, helping me somewhat stay on track, dining out posed its challenges. Nevertheless, amidst the ups and downs, I did still shed 600 grams for the month – progress, no matter how incremental, is still progress!
It’s hard to believe we’re already halfway through April, hurtling toward winter – a season I’m not particularly fond of. Thankfully, we have our trip to Bali scheduled for three weeks in August/September to look forward to. I simply can’t wait!

Anna's Easy Cheesy French Onion Chicken Bake
Conventional Cooking:Â Feed Me Healthy Website. A long-time known recipe, and now I regret not trying it sooner! It’s incredibly simple and absolutely delicious. Paired it with steamed vegetables for a perfect meal.

Bec's Table Prawn Curry
Thermomix & Conventional: Bec’s Table Website. A delightful find just in time for Good Friday. Quick, easy, and undeniably tasty – a definite keeper!

WW Beef Mince Chow Mein
Conventional Cooking: Chow mein is a personal favourite, so having a WW version was a delightful surprise. Served it with steamed vegetables, and it was a flavour explosion! It wasn’t made in the Thermomix as Chris cooked but next time we have it (next month) I will try it with my Thermomix. Anything easy and I’m there.

Tex Mex Soup - WW Version
Thermomix: Originally I found this recipe on Cookidoo and it is spicy and satisfying, though a bit heavy on the points. I tweaked the recipe to make it WW-friendly without compromising on flavour.

Anna's Roast Veggie & Hummus Buddha Bowl
Thermomix & Conventional: Meat-Free Delight – Ann’s Book 2 Page 74. A refreshing departure from our usual meat-centric meals. Filling and satisfying, it kept me full all night – a win for someone who loves her snacks! Where does the Thermomix come in? Cook your rice in it. Always pay attention to the length of time cook in Tips. Brown rice is 45 minutes!

Anna's Sweet & Sour Chicken
Conventional Cooking: Anna’s Book 1 Page 153 – similar on her website. Chris surprised me by choosing this dish, and it was a hit! Quick, easy, and bursting with flavour – just what you’d expect from Anna’s recipes.

Thermomix: Our WW Version. Although plans for Friday night fell through, I whipped up a batch for later use, making busy nights a breeze!

Thermomix & Conventional: Feed Me Healthy Website. A freezer staple that saves the day when time is short. Delicious served with steamed vegetables or salad.

Thermomix & Conventional: Sweet Treats Anna’s Book 2 Page 166. Perfect for when those sweet cravings hit. Crunchy, chocolaty, and utterly divine!

Fruit Crumbles
Conventional: Peach & Blueberry Crumbles (6P) Book 2 Page 208 or Spiced Fruit Crumble (4P) Book 1 Page 176: The dessert is for 4 people so I split it over 2 nights. I also don’t stick to the same fruit. Whatever I have. If I use canned fruit it is always in Juice and drained. I do use my Thermomix and I will tell you how soon.
