We Say Goodbye to 2024

December 22, 2024

A long waffle, but that is me! Our Year in Highlights: A Reflection on 2024

January
The year began with a focus on health and self-care as I joined WW – Weight Watchers. A step toward a healthier, more balanced lifestyle, full of promise and determination.

As the year comes to a close, I’m celebrating a personal achievement: a weight loss of 7.3kg! I’m feeling proud of how far I’ve come. Now, let’s be real—exercise? Not a chance! Anyone who knows me knows that the very idea of it makes me cringe.

However, this is my moment to make a promise to myself: I’m pledging to start doing something. It doesn’t have to be big, but it will be a step forward. Let’s see how well I can stick to this pledge in the coming year—cheers to new beginnings!

February 24
A chapter closed, but with it came the dawn of new opportunities. After much thought, we stepped away from being Thermomix Consultants, ready to embrace the next big adventure.

March 18
A milestone of love and togetherness: Daniel and Gina celebrated their first wedding anniversary. What a joy it was to reflect on their beautiful journey as a married couple and the following day on March 19 pure happiness entered their lives with the arrival of their precious daughter, Sofia. A tiny bundle of joy who instantly stole everyone’s hearts and made the world a brighter place.

Sofia’s very first time seeing and being in Snow – St John’s – Michigan – USA

July 4
We gathered to celebrate Ivy’s 2nd birthday, our sweet granddaughter whose laughter and curious spirit light up our lives. A day filled with love, laughter, and cherished family memories.

August
A month of joy and adventure! Chris turned 64, and we marked the occasion with an unforgettable two-week holiday in Bali. The second week was even more special, as our dear friends Sue and Roby joined us for their first ever Bali holiday filled with sun-soaked days and evenings filled with laughter. September couldn’t have started on a more beautiful note!

October
A whirlwind of emotions as WW announced the closure of workshops. For many, including me, it was a moment of uncertainty and sadness, but it reminded us of the resilience and strength within our community.

November
Just as quickly as they said they were going to close, WW workshops were reinstated! A collective sigh of relief and a celebration of the bonds formed through this journey of health and self-improvement. Am I still going to host meetings in my home. If people want it – absolutely. I will be sharing a post in the New Year to see who is interested!

December
And here we are, wrapping up a year filled with love, change, and celebration. December has been a month of milestones and gatherings:

  • December 7: We saw the beautiful marriage of our friends Stephen and Mark.
  • December 9: A proud moment as we celebrated Elizabeth’s 31st birthday, cherishing the incredible woman she’s become.
  • In between, there were countless dinners and laughter-filled evenings with friends, making this festive season all the more special.
  • December 23: A personal highlight – my own birthday, just before Christmas, where family and friends will come together once more.
  • December 25: This Christmas, our celebrations will feel a little different as we miss three very special people: Daniel, Gina, and Sofia. They are currently in Michigan, USA, spending Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year with Gina’s family. It’s a magical time for them, as Sofia experiences her very first Christmas and it’s a white one and gets to meet all her extended family. While we’ll miss them dearly, our hearts are full knowing they’re creating unforgettable memories together. None the less, we will be celebrating in style at our Elizabeth, Billy & Ivy’s home with my brother Bradley having a lunch with all the trimmings and in the evening being joined by Elizabeth’s Dad Paul and his lovely wife Leonie and wonderfully, Paul dear Mum Aileen.
  • And finally, the joyful countdown to the New Year, with even more birthdays to celebrate as the year turns.

As we look back on 2024, our hearts are full. Through every change, every celebration, and every challenge, we’ve been surrounded by love, family, and friendship. Here’s to carrying that same joy and gratitude into the year ahead!

What Will 2025 Bring?

As we step into a new year, our hearts are filled with excitement and anticipation for the milestones and moments that await us. Here’s a glimpse at what’s on the horizon for our family in 2025:

January 21
We kick off the year with a celebration of Billy’s 30th birthday. Our wonderful son-in-law deserves nothing less than a joyous day filled with love and laughter as we toast to his milestone year.

March 7
A day of love, joy, and new beginnings! Our beautiful daughter Elizabeth will marry the love of her life, Billy, in an intimate and heartfelt ceremony in Torquay. Hosted at Paul & Leonie’s (Dad and Step mum) home, this special gathering will be a celebration of family, love, and the future they’ll build together. It’s a moment we’ve all been looking forward to and will surely cherish forever. I get to make the cake !!!

August–September
We’re heading back to paradise! Sixteen glorious days in Bali await us, and this time, our dear friends Sue and Roby are joining us again—fully converted to the magic of this tropical haven. The trip will be even more special as we celebrate Chris’s 65th birthday and 27 wonderful years together. Bali has become a place of laughter, relaxation, and unforgettable memories, and this trip promises to be no different.

December
The year will close with a milestone of my own: my 60th birthday! Can you believe it? Turning 60 feels surreal, but it’s a chance to reflect on a life filled with love, family, and incredible experiences. I’m looking forward to celebrating this chapter surrounded by those I hold dear, making it a birthday to remember.

Here’s to 2025!
With so much to look forward to, 2025 already feels like a year of love, celebration, and gratitude. We’ll cherish every moment and embrace the adventures, milestones, and surprises that come our way. Here’s to making memories, living each day to its fullest, more cake baking and new recipes!

No matter what you celebrate, how you celebrate, or who you share it with, from our family to yours – wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a safe, joyful, and wonderful 2025!

Thank you for your support and friendship
❤️❤️ Sue & Chris ❤️❤️
