Weekly Weigh-In: My Healthy Journey Continues

As the calendar flips to 2025, I find myself reflecting on the progress I made in 2024. It’s been a year of learning, growth, and some tangible wins—most notably, losing 6.5kg on my WW journey! 🎉

Weight loss isn’t just about the numbers on the scale; it’s about the small, consistent choices that lead to big changes. For me, 2024 was about understanding my relationship with food, learning to make healthier choices, and being patient with myself. But if I’m being honest, there was one big thing missing: movement.

A New Year, A New Focus

This year, I’ve set my sights even higher. Not only will I stay on track with my WW goals, but I’m also determined to introduce exercise into my routine. And by exercise, I don’t mean anything extreme or overwhelming—I mean simply walking.

In 2024, I didn’t do any formal exercise. None. Zilch. And while that worked for the weight I lost; I know I owe it to myself to get moving. Walking feels like a manageable, enjoyable way to start. It’s not about burning calories; it’s about embracing movement as a part of a healthier lifestyle.

Why Walking?

Walking is one of the most accessible forms of exercise. It doesn’t require a gym membership or special equipment—just a good pair of shoes and a commitment to stepping outside. It also gives me time to clear my head, listen to my favourite music or podcasts, and reconnect with nature.

Looking Ahead

2025 is about progress, not perfection. I know the journey won’t be linear, and there will be days when I struggle. But I’m excited to see what happens when I combine the healthy eating habits I’ve built with a more active lifestyle.

Here’s what I’m focusing on this year:

  1. Continuing my WW journey and staying consistent with my food choices.
  2. Adding regular walks to my week—even if it’s just 10 minutes a day to start.
  3. Celebrating small wins along the way, because every step forward matters.

This sounds like a great idea and I’d definitely be in if I lived in Melbourne because I know the benefits of having support. It’s hard trying to go it alone even if you know what you need to do.

Oh, I’m right there with you! I’ve had my fair share of “I’m gonna lose weight all by myself” moments—you know, just me, my treadmill, and my fridge glaring at each other—and let’s just say it was not a recipe for success. Enter WW Workshops, and suddenly, I wasn’t alone! The support, the cheering, the accountability—it was like having a personal pep squad. Turns out, everyone loves a good round of applause, even if we pretend we don’t.

Now, I’m paying it forward. WW Workshops aren’t exactly a cheap exercise (pun intended), so offering my time and home feels like a great way to give back. Plus, it’s a win-win—I get to help others while keeping myself inspired. Who knew weight loss could come with such a side of community feels? Wish you could be here to join us!
