However, with the convenience of a Thermomix in your kitchen, the process becomes a breeze. In addition to helping you whip up fantastic dishes, delightful desserts, and treats for all ages, your Thermomix boasts another invaluable function – sterilization. Thanks to its versatility, you can use your Thermomix to sterilize not only baby bottles but also jars for making preserves, jams, and various other homemade delights.
Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to effortlessly sterilize baby bottles, dummies, teats, and their lids using your Thermomix.
**Note: Pre-Washing Is Essential:**
Before sterilizing, ensure that the baby bottles and their corresponding parts are thoroughly washed. Sterilization is most effective on clean surfaces.
**Prepare Your Thermomix:**
– Start by adding 500ml of water to your Thermomix bowl.
**Set Up the Varoma®:**
– Place the Varoma® on top of your Thermomix, ensuring it’s securely in place.
**Arrange the Bottles and Parts:**
– Separate the baby bottles, dummies, teats, and their corresponding lids. Lay the bottles down in the base of your Varoma®, ensuring they are positioned in a way that allows for proper steam circulation. Place the dummies, teats, and lids on the tray of the Varoma®.
**Adjust the Settings:**
– Set your Thermomix to run at Varoma® temperature (typically around 100 degrees Celsius) and select a moderate speed, often Speed 2, to generate the necessary steam for sterilization.
**Initiate the Sterilization Process:**
– Let your Thermomix operate for 20 minutes at the Varoma® temperature and the designated speed setting. During this time, the steam will effectively sterilize all the baby bottles and their components.
**Allow for Drying:**
– Once the sterilization process is complete, you have two options. You can either leave the sterilized items in the Varoma® to cool and air dry or transfer them to a drying rack.
**Exercise Caution:**
– Keep in mind that the sterilized items will be quite hot, so it’s crucial to handle them with care and avoid touching them with your fingers to prevent burns.
As your child grows and transitions to larger bottles, you can also lay them down in the Varoma®, ensuring they receive the sterilization they require. This method ensures that your baby’s bottles and accessories are safe and free from harmful bacteria, providing peace of mind for parents.
