No More tablets or machines to sterilise your jars

Sterilising jars can often be seen as a tedious and time-consuming process, involving various methods such as boiling, using sterilising tablets, expensive sterilising machines, or even using your oven. However, when you have a Thermomix in your kitchen, the task becomes quick and effortless. Just as your Thermomix assists in creating fantastic dishes, delightful desserts, and treats for both kids and adults, it offers yet another valuable functionality – sterilisation. With this versatile kitchen appliance, you can easily sterilise jars, a crucial step for making preserves, jams, and various other homemade delights.

Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to sterilise jars using your Thermomix:

**Prepare Your Thermomix:**
– Start by adding 500ml of water to your Thermomix bowl.

**Set Up the Varoma®:**
– Place the Varoma® on top of your Thermomix, ensuring it’s securely in place.

**Arrange the Jars and Lids:**
– Separate the jars and their corresponding lids and place them separately on the base of your Varoma®. This ensures that both the jars and lids receive proper sterilisation.

**Adjust the Settings:**
– Set your Thermomix to run at Varoma® temperature (which is typically around 100 degrees Celsius) and choose a moderate speed, often Speed 2, to create the steam necessary for sterilisation.

**Initiate the Sterilisation Process:**
– Let your Thermomix run for 20 minutes at the Varoma® temperature and the designated speed setting. During this time, the steam will circulate around the jars and lids, effectively sterilising them.

**Allow for Drying:**
– Once the sterilisation process is complete, you have two options. You can either leave the sterilised jars and lids in the Varoma® to cool and dry or transfer them to a drying rack.

**Exercise Caution:**
– It’s essential to be cautious as the sterilised jars and lids will be quite hot. Avoid handling them directly with your fingers to prevent burns.

**Note: Pre-Washing Is Essential:**
Before sterilising, make sure the jars and their corresponding parts are thoroughly washed. Sterilisation is most effective on clean surfaces.

By following these simple steps, you can quickly and efficiently sterilise your jars using your Thermomix, saving time and effort compared to other traditional methods. This convenient process ensures that your homemade preserves, jams, and other culinary creations stay fresh and safe for consumption. With your Thermomix as a reliable kitchen companion, the task of sterilising jars becomes a breeze, allowing you to focus on creating delicious homemade treats with ease.
