And sometimes over?

Cooking pasta in a Thermomix can be a bit of a learning curve – well for me it was. The first time I tried it, I had a bit of a scare when the water started to boil up and almost spilled over the sides of the Thermomix bowl. It was a bit of a shock, to say the least.

I wasn’t sure if it would actually boil over, but I didn’t want to take any chances. That’s when I remembered a trick my Mum used to use when cooking pasta or rice on the stove – she would place a wooden spoon across the top of the pot. It was a simple yet effective way to prevent the water from boiling over.

So, I decided to give it a try with the Thermomix, and it worked like a charm. Now, it’s become second nature for me to place a wooden spoon across the top of the Thermomix bowl whenever I’m cooking something that might bubble up or foam during the cooking process.

Not only does this little trick save me from potential messes, but it also gives me peace of mind knowing that I can step away from the Thermomix without worrying about any sudden overflows. It’s a handy tip for anyone using a Thermomix or cooking in general – a simple solution to a common kitchen challenge.
