Sauteed Onions - Chopped
What's Needed
- Thermomix
Ingredients
- 20 mls Olive Oil
- 200-300 gms Brown Onions
Instructions
Chopped Version
- Cut the onion into four pieces to make it easier to handle.
- Place the onion pieces in the Thermomix bowl.
- 5 seconds | Speed 5
Sautéing the Onions
- Place 20 ml olive oil in the Thermomix bowl.
- Put the lid in place and put the splash guard to prevent any splattering during sautéing.
- 5 minutes | Varoma | Speed 1
Sauteed Onions - Cutter Version
What's Needed
- Thermomix
Ingredients
- 20 mls Olive Oil
- 200-300 gms Brown Onions
Instructions
Cutter Version
- Insert the cutter attachment with the dark grey (slate) side facing up. The dark grey side is typically used for slicing.
- On the modes panel, select “Thick Slices.” The grey mode is for grating, while the slate mode is for slicing.
- Place the onion in the Thermomix with the cutter attachment in place.
- Let the Thermomix slice the onion into uniform pieces.

- Put the lid in place and put the splash guard to prevent any splattering during sautéing.

Sauteed Onions - Manual Slicing
What's Needed
- Thermomix
Ingredients
- 20 mls Olive Oil
- 200-300 gms Brown Onions

Chopped Version
- Slice the onion into even, thin slices. You can use a knife or a mandolin slicer for this.
