We love our bowls looking super clean!

Maintaining your Thermomix bowl in pristine condition is crucial, especially when you’re preparing delicate recipes like Pavlova that require perfectly fluffy egg whites. Residue or lingering odors in the bowl can affect the outcome of your culinary creations. To ensure your Thermomix is thoroughly clean, particularly before whipping up egg whites, it’s beneficial to perform a deep cleaning. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to deep clean your Thermomix bowl effectively:

1. Gather Your Ingredients:

  • You’ll need a few common household items to perform this deep cleaning:
    • 750 ml (ml) of water
    • 250 ml (ml) of white vinegar
    • 2 tablespoons of baking soda (bi-carb soda)

    2. Prepare the Solution:

    • Start by adding the 750 ml of water to your Thermomix bowl. This serves as the liquid base for the cleaning process.
    • Pour in the 250 ml of white vinegar. Vinegar is known for its natural cleaning and deodorizing properties.
    • Finally, add the 2 tablespoons of baking soda (bi-carb soda) to the mix. The baking soda acts as a gentle abrasive and helps to lift off stubborn residues.

    3. Set the Parameters:

    • Seal the Thermomix bowl with the lid and ensure that the measuring cup (MC) is securely in place.
    • Configure the Thermomix settings as follows:
      • 15 minutes of cooking time
      • Varoma® temperature (typically around 120-125 degrees Celsius)
      • Speed setting at 4

    4. Initiate the Cleaning Process:

    • Start your Thermomix on the specified settings and allow it to run for the full 15 minutes. During this time, the combination of water, vinegar, and baking soda will work together to thoroughly clean the bowl.

    5. Rinse and Dry:

    • After the cleaning cycle is complete, carefully remove the Thermomix bowl and pour out the solution.
    • Rinse the bowl meticulously with warm water to ensure that all traces of the cleaning solution are removed.
    • To complete the process, leave the bowl to air dry on a drying rack.

This deep cleaning method effectively removes stubborn residues and odors from your Thermomix bowl, leaving it fresh and ready for your culinary endeavors. The combination of vinegar and baking soda helps to sanitize and deodorize the bowl, ensuring that your delicate recipes, such as Pavlova, turn out flawlessly. By following these steps, you can maintain your Thermomix in top condition, ready to assist you in creating delightful dishes with ease.
