While the quick wash setting is already fantastic for regular cleaning, there are times when you want to give your Thermomix® a thorough cleaning to restore it to a brand new shine and leave it smelling absolutely delightful. This process combines the cleaning power of eggshells and lemons to achieve these goals.
Here’s how to shine and deodorize your Thermomix® bowl to bring it back to that brand new stage:
1. Gather Your Ingredients:
- You’ll need a few natural ingredients that are both effective and safe for cleaning:
- 3-4 empty eggshells (washed and saved for this purpose)
- 1 lemon, cut into four pieces
2. First Stage – Grinding:
- Start by adding the 3-4 empty eggshells and the cut-up lemon pieces to your Thermomix® bowl.
- Run the Thermomix® for 10 seconds on Speed 8. This step helps grind the eggshells and lemon, creating a natural abrasive paste that aids in cleaning and deodorizing the bowl.
3. Scrape Down the Sides:
- After grinding, take a moment to scrape down the sides of the bowl and the underside of the lid to ensure all the residue from the eggshells and lemon is incorporated into the mixture.
4. Second Stage – Soaking:
- Add 500g (ml) of water to your Thermomix® bowl, creating a solution that will help soak and cleanse the bowl.
- Set the Thermomix® to run for 30 minutes at 50 degrees Celsius on Speed 2. During this time, the combination of the lemon and eggshells will work to remove any stains, odors, or residue that may have built up in the bowl.
5. Rinse and Dry:
- After the 30-minute soaking cycle is complete, carefully pour out the solution from the Thermomix® bowl.
- Rinse the bowl thoroughly with warm water, ensuring that all remnants of the eggshells and lemon are removed.
- To complete the process, leave the bowl to dry on a drying rack.
